Because of Your Advocacy - We Are One Step Closer!

THANK YOU!  Because of your active support of our lobbying efforts, WE ARE ONE STEP CLOSER to passing our legislation to remove the restrictions on NP and CRNA licenses in Massachusetts.

In response to our 6/17/16 Grassroots Campaign, MCNP members and supporters of H. 1996/S. 1207 generated more than 2,500 emails to lawmakers on Beacon Hill.

On Tuesday 6/21/16, Chairmen Welch and Sanchez sent a list of bills to members of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, including H.1996/S. 1207 with a recommendation that the bill "ought to pass."

Committee members had 24 hours to vote, and the votes are in!  We are moving out of committee and on to the next step in the legislative process. The Senate and House versions of the bill are being sent to the House and Senate Ways and Means Committees where they will be deliberated next.

Many thanks to the MCNP and MANA membership, our lobbyists, and the countless patients, family members, friends, and nursing colleagues who responded to our calls to action and sent emails.

Our thanks as well to those legislators who helped us get this far. Please take a moment to send them a simple thank you to let them know you appreciate their efforts.

While this is a  MAJOR SUCCESS, we have less than 25 working days in this legislative session to get this bill passed and significant work ahead of us.

Congratulations and stay tuned for more updates and guidance on how you can help in advancing this legislation so that we can get it passed into law before July 31, 2016.
